Kerone Engineering Solutions Ltd. is a reputable manufacturer of equipment for producing activated carbon. Five different areas of EPC solutions are available to our clients: biomass carbonization, carbon activation, activated carbon regeneration, acid and water washing of activated carbon, as well as crushing and screening.
In order to manufacture activated carbon under high-temperature circumstances, we primarily employ the physical production method, using air and water vapor as activators. This process yields activated carbon, which has the benefits of strong adsorption performance, high mechanical strength, low fluid resistance, stable chemical characteristics, high purity, and simple regeneration.
How does carbon activation work?
Following biomass carbonization, carbon activation is a critical step in the creation of activated carbon. The goal of carbon activation is to increase the surface area and adsorption capacity of the pores by removing the tar materials and cracking products that accumulated in the pore structure during the carbonization process using steam or chemical agents. The carbon that has undergone activation treatment is known as activated carbon, which is used extensively in both industrial and daily life.
When it comes to providing activated carbon production facilities and machines, Kerone is skilled and knowledgeable. To achieve carbon activation, we primarily use a rotary kiln for activated carbon and a physical activation technique. Gas activation is typically referred to as physical activation. It selectively oxidizes the carbonized material at a high temperature of 800-1000 °C using water vapor, carbon dioxide, or air as the activating gas. This removes the tar and other materials while enlarging the original pores in the material.
As long as your raw material contains carbon, Kerone carbon activation facilities may create a wide variety of activated carbons. Combined with a crusher and screening equipment, our manufacturing line may meet your needs for producing powdered activated carbon, columnar activated carbon, granular activated carbon or honeycomb activated carbon.
